“Father Fitz” was a dear friend to Catholic Charities, especially the Department for Persons with Disabilities. Fr. Fitzpatrick helped create CARE, a pioneer program providing spiritual opportunities for adults with disabilities. Our Fitzpatrick House is named in his honor. He will be missed.

April 18th is National Volunteer Week. Congratulations to 13 year old Peyton Triano, who was named one of 6 finalists for Catholic Charities USA's Volunteer of the Year Award. There are over 30,000 volunteers within the CCUSA network!
Catholic Charities Veterans Services recently partnered with the VA NJ Health Care System, Bergen County Veterans Services, and the Bergen County Rise Suicide Prevention Coalition to distribute gun locks as part of the VA's ongoing Suicide Prevention 2.0.
For over 55 years, the Department for Persons with Disabilities has provided help and created hope for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Developmental Disability Awareness Month is an opportunity to promote respect for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and to increase awareness.
