The highly anticipated NJ Army Tank Pull, Wiegand Farm Golf Classic and Corpus Christi Food Drive are back in June of 2023!
The Tank Pull is back for its 13th edition, continuing its mission to raise funds and support for veterans in need. This annual event, jointly hosted by the New Jersey Knights of Columbus, Catholic Charities, Diocese of Paterson, and veteran partners from throughout New Jersey, will take place on June 11, 2023. The Tank Pull will be held at 100 Clifton Avenue, in Clifton, New Jersey, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
The annual Wiegand Farm Golf Classic, is one of largest golf outings in New Jersey. This year, the event will be held on June 19th at Crystal Springs Resort, marking its 49th consecutive year. All proceeds from the golf classic will benefit the Department for Persons with Disabilities and the entire ministry of Catholic Charities.
The Corpus Christi Food Drive, will be held during the weekend of June 10th. This drive spans the entire Diocese of Paterson. Each parish within the Diocese hosts an individual kind of drive for a specific product to benefit Catholic Charities’ 3 food pantries: Fr. English in Paterson, Partnership for Social Services in Franklin, and Hope House in Dover.
For over a decade, the NJ Army Tank Pull has been a remarkable fundraising initiative, raising n $2 million to support veterans. The Tank Pull Challenge presents participants with a physical test of endurance as they join forces to overcome the seemingly insurmountable task of moving an immovable object—an 80,000-pound tank mounted on a flatbed truck. The event serves as a rallying cry for competitors to embrace the challenge and defy the impossible. Teams of up to 20 individuals from both corporate and nonprofit sectors take part in this extraordinary event. With over 40 teams already registered, the event is nearing capacity, with a cap set at 50 teams.
Last year, the Wiegand Farm Golf Classic attracted a record-breaking 400 participants across three courses. This year, Catholic Charities is once again seeking interested golfers, sponsors, volunteers, and individuals to contribute to the ministry's mission.
Scott Milliken, CEO of Catholic Charities Diocese of Paterson, expressed his pride stating, "We are honored to collaborate with the Knights of Columbus for the New Jersey Army Tank Pull. This event holds great significance as we come together to express our gratitude to those who have served our great nation. Our Wiegand Farm Golf Classic is a celebration of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and our entire, impactful organization. The Corpus Christi Food Drive enables us to provide help and create hope for the food insecure through critical summer months. Your support of all or any of these endeavors will support thousands of our sisters and brothers in need."
